Bed Topper

We have a 2012 Ram 3/4 ton 4x4 short bed 2500 HD diesel, we are looking for a lockable bed topper, where would you look for one of these?

I found one on my local Craig's List for my 2006 Dodge 3/4 ton Quad Cab. It took a few months of looking, and I did miss one or two that were real deals (one was $100) but I found a Jason brand high rise that color matched my trucks color - the guy was asking $500 and I got it for $375.

If you do not want to scour the internet and are willing to pay full price, look at your local (or closest) topper dealer or truck accessory store. They can get one to match within 2 or 3 weeks IF they do not have one in stock. You can also order any options you desire for it. I wanted a sliding window on the front of the topper, but since I bought used, the one I got didn't have one.

Leer bed toppers. I ordered mine straight from the factory that they painted to match the color of my pu. They included installation in the price.

If you want to spend the bucks, Snugtop XV, painted to match with a hinge down front slider window. So Cal location, taxes and out the door,,,,,,, only $2800. But, that is probably the best cab-high shell camper out there.

Craigslist.

We got a hightop, but didn't like the drop in mileage, so sold it and got a cab-high Snug-Top...on Craigslist.

Best luck

I just put my hightop on 2 weeks ago and haven't noticed a drop in mpgs around town SOLO. I am hoping for a slight improvement in mpgs while towing my bumper pull toyhauler. I am hoping the hightop will deflect air over the front better than without a cap.

I had a undercover bed cover at first and it was good. But needed more storage. Went with a snugtop cap best choice I ever made. Cost more than other caps but worth it. I got the snugtop rebel.

But check cragslist if you just want a used cap.

My previous truck had a Century Truck Cap. Supposedly made in the same factory as Leer. Quality was good, price was a little cheaper than Leer too. Color matched nicely, a fair amount of available options.
