Best tool I ever bought
Picked up an infra-red temp gun from China Tools (HF) and use it to check tire temps, wheel bearing temps, tire temps on the tow truck, etc. Found the sunny side of the TT tires are 14 degrees hotter than the shady side and the rear truck tires are @11 degrees hotter due most probably to doing all the work. I figure if a tire is going down slowly it'll show as a hotter temp due to sidewall flex. If a bearing is going bad it'll be real hot compared to the others. I check them every stop. Only takes a minute to do the walk around and point at each tire and hub. All the hubs were within 4 degrees of each other on 4 tries.
It does a good job of checking meat temps in the meat smoker too!

You must have missed the memo that came out about 5 years ago saying that every RV'er should have one!

Have never been without one. Stays beside me in driver's map bag. Check tires every time I fuel up or stop at rest area.

Have some fun w/it. Aim it at the different paint colors on RV exteriors & see just how much hotter the dark paints are than the light ones. After doing that with our Fluke IR, I decided I'll never have a coach with dark paint.

I didn't figure I was the first with one but it sure works good. 5 years ago I was flying airplanes and not retired and pulling a TT :-)

Check my tires every stop and I also shoot my differential every now and again.

Try it on a 115° day in Phoenix. More like a 75° difference.

I drive my dog nuts with that little red dot. Cat can be traumatized also.
