Best way to remove old tape from exterior of trailer
Seller put a for sale sign with this tape that is now plastered to the outside. Any recommendations on how to get this off? Was going to spray it with some WD 40 and then get to scrubbing but would hate to ruin or scratch off the paint. Thanks

Goo Gone and 3 mil adhesive remover are my go to. Always test in a spot first but ive used goo gone on everything with no ill effects and 3 mil on cars. I also have used gas ... but will always use my first two choices. Just removed tape off wifes new mini van using goo gone. I always do a little wax after scrubbing to bring the top coat back up to par.

I would be extremely careful using GooGone on painted finishes, I have seen it soften and remove factory cured painted surfaces. I would go with WD40 or Varsol.

When I bought my latest coach, the thermostat was not working properly. The previous owner thought taping cardboard over the front grill was going to give him more heat. Might work on a front engine unit, but mine is a rear engine. The tape residue was around the front clip and was very noticeable. When getting the rv safety checked at a local garage, the garage owner told me his secret to getting off tape like this. He said it wont wreck the paint at all, and breaks down the glue in the tape. This tape was duct tape, and I had to remove the grey part of the tape, but his secret stuff removed the glue nicely with a bit of scrubbing and a few rolls of shop towels. His secret stuff. Coleman camp fuel, like you use in your old camp stove or lantern. I think they call it naptha. It worked for me, and I had a large area to contend with, and no damage to the paint whatsoever. Good luck.

WD40 with no scubbing needed. Spray on, let it sit and wipe it off.

Eraser wheel off amazon for like 10 bucks. Attach it to your drill and go to town. I used it on a truck to remove a baked on vinyl decal that was about 2'x2' and it didn't hurt the paint whatsoever. Most detail shops use these to remove bumper stickers and charge an arm and a leg for it when you can do it yourself.
