Black Tank valve replacement

I have an Adirondack TT with a 4 season enclosure underneath it and the black water tank valve has a remote operated handle due to the covering on the bottom. The valve is stuck in the open position and I was wondering if there is a clean/easy repair that could be made to it?? I looked at the valve and it seems the cable sleeve just pushes out from the valve body therefore not allowing the cable inside to push the valve closed. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Vince

The cable sheath could be the issue. You might try PB Blaster, a penetrating oil that works great on cables. It's available at Home Depot, auto parts stores, etc. A step up from WD 40 for this type of job.

If you can't loosen the cable pull, you might have to replace the cable and gate valve. Since you have an enclosed cover, you might have to remove or cut through that to access the valve area. You might check with manufacturer or RV service dept. to see if they have a least destructive method to do the job.

Yes it is the cable came loose from the valve body so now the sheath slides instead of the cable pushing the valve closed, there is was a cutout to access this valve already just not very roomy. Not real sure if the cable sleeve can be
re-clamped onto the body of the valve to allow proper function.

Yes, the cable sheath can be clamped back into the valve body clamp. There are two valve types usually; Bristol (don't care for them at all) and Valterra.
