I know people that put them out on their land like a cabin. If it's never on the road, no one will see it. It was said that Judge Roy Bean would let you get away with murder, but would hang you if you stole a nickel... I guess if you murdered a thief, he might just buy you a beer...

Very sorry for your loss. I don't know if it would do any good but you never know.......is it possible you could post a picture of it here? Might not be likely it will be located, but you just never know. Someone may see the dirty scoundrels pulling it down the road tomorrow. Not impossible.
Wishing you better days soon.
Regards,
W.D.

I'm the guy with more questions than answers sometimes.
I'd be interested in knowing how the insurance company handled this. Will they pay full purchase price? The TT is only a week old. How about sales tax? Do they reimburse you for that? How about licensing and title fees? Is there a waiting period before the company settles in hopes the stolen TT will be recovered?
I have a feeling the OP is in for a ride. I sure hope I'm wrong.
Please keep us informed.
Lynn

That's the mentality of most people today. It doesn't matter if you work hard and do without so later in life you can splurge a little, they believe they have a right to have what you have without the effort!

I want to thank everyone for their words. It's all I have positive in this situation. I've been told my insurance (State Farm) waits around a month for it to be recovered, even though no one is looking for it. I still have no idea how badly their are going to try and hose me. I know I owe the deductible but one would think an unused brand new trailer has zero depreciation. I can't figure out how to post a picture of it here from my phone but if you Google "Northland 21FBS" there's plenty. My next trailer, if there is a next, will have locks and chains going through the locks and chains!

If the police are anything like they are in my area, he'll be caught fairly quickly. A few months ago, I borrowed a utility trailer off of my father-in-law. I had no idea that he never registered the ownership. He took a plate off of a TT he owned 10 years ago and slapped it on the back of the utility trailer. Not five km down the road, and the police pulled me over. As he was writing me up two tickets totaling almost $300, he told me that they run the plates of all trailers as a matter of routine. More often than not, trailers have the wrong plates, and they are frequently stolen.

Someone at the dealer is probably in on it. Gets a cut for giving up the location of new units.

Would like to bring back hanging (much like a horse thief to me), but this is California so the judge will feel sorry for them and let them go to do it again. Sorry for the loss, hope the insurance treats you well.

What a horrible situation to have to deal with. On our former TT I heard a car one night looked out and a guy with tools was attempting to steal our two propane tanks, I yelled out the window that I had a gun and would use it. He dropped his wrench and took off in the van that was waiting for him. LOL I called the police, but they seemed pretty amused and uninterested in the whole thing. We now have the tanks and batteries chained up. But it would be pretty easy for someone to hook it up and take off. Thanks for tipping many of us off. I hope State Farm treats you right. I battled with them after an auto accident and now getting insurance on our new TT. Not too pleased with the Discount Double Check.

Brand new TT stolen!
Hopefully you didn't have to many personal things already in it thefts are everywhere does matter what you do if they want it they will take it that's what insurance is for.. I never hear to many whole trailers being stolen broken into yes. I live in the sticks but I always have my jacks down and slide out plugged in wheel covers the whole deal so they would need to spend some time to get it plus get inside to bring the slide in by then they would be looking at a barrel

We have our yards encircled with wireless proximity driveway alarms and several florescent floods. RV's have ADT wireless alarms inside. Handgun in every room in the house. Living amongst the undead (meth-addicts) makes you this way. Police are 45 mins away.
