I've filed a report with the police and insurance but apparently there's almost nothing that can be done they say. The day it disappeared was the same day I received the tongue lock and was looking into disconnecting the battery (electric tongue jack). Just really sucks and I hope if anyone see's it they let the police know and think twice about leaving their trailer accessible for thieves.

Mine was 5 weeks old , 5am in the morning, caught them in the act , fired at them , they left the stolen f250 running and in gear. 1800 dollars in damage, bought new hitch lock, new anchors and cable , Jacks down, X chocks on.

My new TT has had a hitch lock on it from day one. I also remove the battery during the winter, and disconnect it when parked during the summer. Makes it at least a little harder to take it, but nothing is foolproof. My best defense is living in a small town a long way from any sophisticated thieves.

It is such a shame that through no fault of his own the OP (and others) will end up with a negative experience report on their CLUE record. This will follow him around for years and have a negative (costly) influence on future insurance transactions.
Oh, don't know what CLUE is? Then GOOGLE it and BTW order your own CLUE report and see what I am talking about.
Also, insured people can end up getting a negative CLUE listing just for enquiring about a claim even if they never file one. So beware! Your friendly insurance guy you have been doing business with for 30 years will not hesitate to turn you in. It is his job.

I have my tt parked right behind my truck, so i guess they could try to steal my truck and trailer all in one shot if they smart enough to bring a 2" receiver with them. I have seen a increase of petty crime in our area.
Why can't they keep their hands off my stuff I worked for? The need for Meth and Opioids is not a green light to take my stuff.
So glad the OP "got paid" from his insurance company.

I'd suggest you get the chain seen. Half the work of not getting things stolen is making the thief think it is not worth the effort and to go onto easier pickings.

Wait, what? You just got that trailer?
Back on topic. I hope insurance treats you right.

Meth labs seem to be the use of choice. We had one set up in a rental storage bay near us. Nobody new until the police raided it.
Hope it works out for you.
