Brrr!! OutdoorsRV cold weather info
We get to depart for warmer weather in about 72 hours (but who's counting). Took our 2014 Creekside 20FQ out of storage last week at 40+ degrees. Still have it winterized but wanted to start packing household goods so I put in our 1500w heater on its lowest setting. We had 2" of snow yesterday and this morning its a balmy 3. Just checked the camper and it's lovely 44 inside and still has over an inch of snow on top except for the skylights. The heater is cycling on and off. Great performance for an RV. Hope to not need the heater this time next week.

We have used a 1500w oil filled heater in our Wind River 250RLSW, but temps in Florida have only been down to 25F. Using the highest wattage it keeps the trailer at 65F, so we use the furnace first thing in the AM to get it to 72F, then the electric heater will maintain the temp. In milder temps above 40F we use the middle wattage setting and we stay quite comfy.
We do have condensation appear on the wall at the bed mattress area. We have to move the mattress away from the wall during the daytime to give it air, and we also have to treat the bed frame for mildew that forms. This happens anytime the temp is below 50F while heating the inside.
Does anyone else experience unusual condensation with their Outdoors RV trailer?

Highway, Haven't left a thing on the left coast. Not too fond of the right hand one either. Deadhead to St George ish area and boondock from there temperature dependent.

In two winter trips from Western Idaho to the Oregon coast and down to Southern California (where we are now) we have never had a drop of condensation in our Wind River. In our prior Arctic Fox, on the same trips at the same time of year, we did have considerable condensation.
In cold weather, we regularly use our "fireplace", which is an artfully designed, very quiet, 1500 watt electric heater. Although it is a gimmick, we absolutely love it!!

We use the oil filled heater as well. It usually keeps our 35' TT about 35deg warmer than outside. That sounds similar to the OP's results. We also get considerable condensation. I just open the windows a crack once we are out and about. If it is raining or we are traveling that day I will open a bag of damp rid.

I don't live or travel where I need to winterize. That's why there are tires on my vacation home. Temps 65-80 deg is just fine with me. It's been cold and raining the last 2 days, low 60's and an inch of rain so my truck stays in the garage.

Very boring... one needs to add a tornado or two to make life most interesting. And to maximize one's life experience, include a hurricane or two. Of course you have earthquakes which are a whole lot of fun..

I agree Bob....very boring indeed. Spent 2 weeks in Southern California and in Yuma. You need to spice things up with black ice, blowing blinding white out conditions, ice storms, cold enough that nose hair freezes.
We never had the pleasure of an earth quake just endless 4 lanes of traffic and 82 F or 27.7 C weather.
We looked at some sea side view lots and the "Yacht Club" at the Salton Sea...very affordable...everybody qualifies...some one's "clear vision" must have turned into a "night mere"

You ladies don't know what cold is! Today it's -21C feels like -31C with the wind chill and the forecast for tomorrow is -31 and -40 with the windchill. Noticed the sun showing itself at 7 a.m. this morning so spring isn't far off.

Kayakcrazy,
We know what cold is and that is why we are currently in Southern California, to return to Idaho in mid-May...
Last year when we left home it was -23 deg F. For those of you north of the 49th parallel, that's -30.5 C.
We are most thankful we can do this and take nothing for granted...
And the Wind River makes us very comfortable in the process...
Bob
