Cabinet door mod for silverware

Hello all

Here are a couple of pics of a mod I made to my cabinet door to hold silverware. It works great for me and thought maybe someone else could use this idea so I am sharing.

Excellent use of the space. Every inch you can carve out in a TT is bonus.

Thanks for sharing.

Glad you shared the tip with us. It looks like it is made with fishing rod holders. What did you make them with?

I bought them off E-BAY they are Berkley Black Horizontal 6 Fishing Rod Rack.

They fit perfect and are easy to modify for thicker items like Potato Peeler in top row.

FWIW, good job, but do yourself a favor and add a 3rd hinge to the door. Even though there is not much weight, the typical RV cabinets are weakly constructed, and the typical jarring of the door up & down will stress the frame & the door. I am a retiring master cabinetmaker about to enter the RV lifestyle

Thanks for your comment and suggestion about my mod.

I heeded your advise and put small bolts thru the hinges with nuts to make sure the screws do not back out. I think it will be more then strong enough now to support extra weight. The frame for the door seems to be plenty strong enough.

Thanks again I had not thought about that aspect.
