We have a Carefree of Colorado Awning model "Deluxe" on our TT. It is circa 1986 or so. A few months ago when retracting the awning the front end support arm became disconnected from the end of the awning. The torsion assembly was attached to the roller, but the part that holds and allows the roller and torsion assembly to pivot became disconnected. We were able to get it reconnected, but it appears that the two springs in the torsion assembly are now bent and it will not roll out or retract without manual intervention to these springs. There are two springs around the center shaft. Both are around the center shaft in the torsion assembly. One is a square shaped wire spring and is a type of clutch device. The other is a standard round wire spring. Both are sprung outwards (i.e. bent) where the handle actuator at the top comes in contact at the torsion assembly. I can get the awning to roll out and retract with a ladder and a needle nose pliers but this is a pain in the ****. Anyone know if these two springs are replaceable? If not, should I attempt to disassemble and bend the springs back to normal shape? Might the whole torsion assembly be replaceable?

Thanks

I have seen the complete torsion assembly on e-bay pretty inexpensive. There also seems to be various parts available to different model awnings. If you know what you need that would be the place I'd check, usually can save some $$$.
