Carefree Pioneer manual awning

My awning would not close at the end of the season last year Because I had to move the camper to put in storage we forced it closed by manually rolling the awning closed. Unfortunately we rolled it the wrong way, clockwise instead of counterclockwise. I am certain the springs are shot if they weren't before. I was wondering if i installed a Carefree Pioneer manual cranking awning upgrade kit, would this be a good fix rather then spending money on a new awning. I currently have a Carefree Fiesta awning. Are there problems with the manual awnings.

I'm going to install one as soon as I get around to it.. Seems to be the perfect answer to those troublesome springs and latching locks..

i installed te manual cranking system soon after this original post. It was inexpensive and works perfectly. Very easy to open and close. I am also able to open it slightly more then before so my stretched awning is now tighter then before. I recomment this if you wning is still in good condition.
