Central NJ Camping Idea

Here is what my Family does living in central Jersey...

We buy season passes to Six Flags and then camp every other weekend and some weeks at the local camping resorts that are around Six Flags.

If you get the passes early enough you save big and it really doesnt cost much for a spot in the resorts.

I'm curious to know how many other families do the same thing?

Might run into you this summer....

We rarely go to Six Flags and don't camp in central Jersey. However it is nice to meet someone from this area.

Best of luck and Happy Traills!!

When we lived in South Brunswick and the kids were little, my wife bought season passes to 'Great Adventure' (as it was known back then...). It was about a 30 minute drive and, as long as you prepacked lunches and did not buy souvenirs, it was economical.

Another cheap trip was going the beach at Sandy Hook. Get there early, no Boardwalk to suck up your money and leave early to beat the exit crowd.

We're now in Hunterdon County. A great local place to camp is Spruce Run State Park. Nice campground, dump station and swimming beach.

If your Six-Flags pass is good at all their parks you might want to head on up to Lake George and the Adirondacks this summer. The Six-Flags group also owns the
"Great Escape Fun Park" in Lake Geroge, NY. It is located just off Exits 20 & 21 of the "Northway" interstate route 87. Plenty of things to do other than the amusement park.

Happy Camping!
