Changing A/C filter...

I want to change my a/c filter and not sure how to take the cover off. Attached is an image of what the cover looks like. In the middle are the 2 knobs for regulating the air and that is where I'm stuck. Got the 4 screws out but not sure how hard to pull on the knobs without breaking something.

Do I just pull down or is there something that is attached to the knobs to make the come off?

Thanks,
Patsy

The square holes on the round pieces

Do you try to insert a square into the hole and torn or lift off

I have knobs where the round hole are (this is an image to buy a new grill cover so it doesn't show the knobs). Reckon, I'm afraid I will break something if I keep trying to pull the knobs off but, they have to come off in order for the grill to come down and me access the filter.

I figured it out!

Took a flathead screw driver and used the flat end to gently go around the knob and the ceiling then began to pry the knob off going from side to side so it would not break.

Now I can clean my filter!
