Last summer I had to change the kitchen faucet on my Sunset Trail 27 RB. I discovered there are plastic innards where the mixing of hot and cold water is done. This was the factory unit that came with the trailer. The plastic had cracked and water was leaking all over under the sink. I went to the local Home Depot and bought a new and expensive Delta and installed it. Leak was fixed. Last week I took the trailer on a shake down, first of season trip in order to find any new problems. The Delta faucet I had installed was again leaking from under the base. I took the faucet out and tore it apart discovering this new faucet also had a plastic mixer and it was also cracked.

I went to my local hardware store and bought and installed a faucet that had copper line mixers, no plastic. It wasn't that expensive, around $70. It could be my blowing out the lines wasn't adequate and it froze over the winter or I left the valves shut and the water standing in the lines busted the plastic mixer. I'm not sure why it happened but I'll never install one of those cheap faucets again. I will also take more care when I winterize.

Seems even expensive faucets wear out prematurely too. Our TT had an upgraded kitchen faucet (less than year old) with metal guts and failed the first time I turned it on. Was leaking from the mixing handle. Bought a new one and so far so good. Sometimes I think they break during installation.

Go to Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. for replacements. Even the cheap stuff for residential use is usually better quality than most of the fixtures they put in RVs.

After blow out I leave all facets open during the winter, for that very reason.

Busted one water line last winter after a good blow out. Going to the pink stuff in all lines next winter.

I have had good luck blowing out several times each winter. I use 30psi max. I then open at least one faucet to bleed off the pressure afterwards. We camp monthly during the winter hence I use air to clear the lines of water several times each winter.
