Dave and Cathy-

Although not an "accessory," they need you (or a nearby friend) to show them through the TT and to demonstrate how to use the systems, and to be "on call" for problems. A friend did that for me. It saved a lot of trouble!

You have several great suggestions (I especially like the EMS power protection system one; it's pricey enough that some people pass on it, to their grief.). Here's my suggestion: When they get ready to take that "big trip," get them a copy of the "Next Exit" book. That and an RV travel atlas are the two most dog-eared items in our RV (the owner's manual being third).

Oh, and X2 on the suggestion to ensure their manual set is complete.

I agree that the Progressive EMS (NOT just the surge protector) and the Andersen levelers are great gift items. Due to their high price, they are great items that one may pass on splurging for themselves. I would add the TST Tire Pressure Monitoring System to this category of item.

There was another question regarding outdoor mats. I got a 9X18 (Awning is 22') and love it. I will say, cleaning it is the single chore I hate most when breaking camp. Once cleaned, it folds up easily and is light enough to lay on top of many items without taking up much space. I do typically have to take it out when I get home and open it up on the back deck to totally dry.

On the topic of outdoor mats, I highly recommend the Mad Mats that you can buy on Amazon. They are made of a material that drys almost instantly and can just be shook out before storing. They might run a little small for a 32' trailer but I would rather have 2 of these than one of the kind they sell in the camp stores.

Gift card to the state park system in their area is also nice.

Regarding the little ones, we have found compact puzzles and board games (ie, farkle) to be fun on rainy days or winter evenings when it gets dark sooner. Also, they are inexpensive so you can change them out as the kids grow older.

A puzzle roll up is a great idea to store partially completed puzzles. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Roll-Up-S...ieces/10858614

As our kids went through their teen years, we moved to more thought provoking games like apples to apples, table topics, etc. It really amazed us how our kid's perspective had developed as they got older. You are around your kids 24x7 yet it sometimes it takes a different environment to get to know them in a whole new way :-)
