Creek Side charger / converter

I just bought a 2017 Creek Side 23DBS as my first travel trailer. Despite having researched the heck out of everything, I keep finding new things I need help with...

I decided to go with 2 6v AGM batteries (the wife wants to do some dry camping) and bought them myself because the dealer doesn't carry AGM. Now I'm reading some more and it sounds like I might should upgrade the power converter, but I don't even really know what is in there right now.

Anyone know what converter is in there? I think I also want a hardwired EMS installed and if I should upgrade the converter I would like to get the work done in one shot while it still at the dealership.

Many congrats on your new RV. I hope you have many happy years in it.

Two months ago We just bought our 2016 Lance 1995 and I'm systematically going through every conceivable upgrade I can think of to make life easier with it.

I honestly think if your not comfortable doing the electrical, get someone qualified to do it. Do not mess with this area. It just makes sense. And yes, if it's at the dealership then get them to do it as if anything were to go wrong, it falls back on them.

Anyway, once again, we'll done and pls post pics of you and the family when you can.

Congrats on the new trailer. I also just picked up my new Creek Side 23DBS and am having fun doing mods and making it my own. I believe that agm batteries charge at a different rate and at a higher voltage. You very well could need a different charger/controller for those batteries. I would do some research on agm batteries and optimal charge rates and how to make them last. Your dealer may not know. Sailboat guys often use them and there may be some sailing websites that could help you.

There is some very good info on The 12 Volt Side of Life web pages.
The 12volt Side of Life (Part 1)

I charge my AGM battery, which is exclusively for radio and computer work, with either a set of solar panels that has a charge controller that charges AGMs properly, or with an external charger that also does AGMs right. My house batteries are 2-6 volt GC2s, and so far my factory installed WFCO charger/converter is doing an OK job with them.
