Day/night shade plastic spool 😡

Ok had or trailer for three years and my major issue is this one night/day shade.

It will be fine for months then that plastic spool starts to pull out of the wood panel.

Now last year I went to look at things and on one side I found a aluminum stud and drilled the one side into that and it's been great.

Now the other side no such luck. And it keeps pulling from the wood.

So anyone that has a fix for this it would be great as I don't want the wall to look like Swiss cheese.

Thanks.

I used 2 part epoxy injected into the hole. After it set up, I drilled a pilot hole and put the screw and spool back in. I also used a fender washer the diameter of the spool between the wall and spool (so it isn't noticeable) so the spool bears on the washer, not the wall.

I filled in the screw hole for my spool with carpenters glue and a wedge of wood and it's still working great.

The information is out there, all you have to do is let it in.
