Dealer's "Sealant" package...is it worth it?
Hello all,
As we are in the middle of purchasing our first ever TT...the dealer wants us to get their special package where they "Seal" the full body paint, as well as the inside carpets, window valances, etc...from sun fading. They also seal any exposed pipes underneath for rust.
I understand this is just like the old "Under Carriage Treatment" at the car dealer....but is there any reason for considering this for a TT? Has anyone gotten this done? The cost is not cheap....roughly $2k.
Thank you!

I wouldn't bother, usually just a different way to up the price for no real benefit to you, the buyer.

No to all dealer extras, in my opinion. HUGE markup on all products that are dealer sold.
Full body paint should already be sealed with clear coat. You can pay an mobile RV detailer way less to hand wax your RV, or you can do it yourself.
UV protectant on fabrics - simply a Scotch Guard product easily applied in aerosal cans bought at any detail/automotive/furniture store. Even cheaper on amazon/internet.
My $0.02.

Typical method by which the dealer gets more profit for a very inexpensive application of questionable materials, and you get to pay a premium price for it.

Sounds like it is a lot expensive, take the time to wash and wax it yourself. Harbor freight has electric auto buffers for less than $20.00 and good auto wash and also good wax is inexpensive.

Margin builder for the dealer. Don't buy it. IMHO.

Sounds like there looking for a dummy to make a few bucks don't be him u can buy enough cleaners, wax, sealants, and Protectants for the life of your new rv .. A lot of your rv salesmen don't know a wrench from a screw driver when I took delivery of my TT I gave my sales guy the orientation and a 2 minute hook up show I was out of there before he knew what was even going on

I'd find another dealer that isn't so greedy.

This guy hires the local dealer detailer, a mobile guy who puts stripes on cars and wipes them down. You get to pay the mark-up.
