Dinette mods pic ideas please...

I have a 2013 Dutchman 265BHS. With the slide out it has a typical
dinette. It 82" wide. With a U-Shape seating with It could seat "6" in
a pinch. 2 of the sides and mounted next to the side of the slide out
and the outside wall. Which leaves a wafer thin wall coming out
perpendicular from the slide-out outside wall. I have repaired the wall
countless times as it gets hit by me or the teenagers and comes unscre
from the base or wall.

I am a serious wood worker and thus have the skills. So I am consider
removing this wafer wall and replacing it with a 1/2 Baltic birch or 2
sided veneer with oak or birch. Making a nice quality topper on the back
edge.

Then since it will be a mess already. Replace the seat cushions since they
just a little softer than cement. DW can sew up some nice cover and backs for them to make them more comfortable and appealing.

Finally the table. It has to go.....! It attached by 2 post which is always moving, as if we were on a cruise ship at high seas. I going remove the
post holes and replace it a homemade table out of walnut or maple which
will fold up and place in the same spot during travel.

I know it will add some weight, at most I figure about 35 - 50#. Since I
am towing it with a one ton new Ram 3500 I am not to worry about another 50#.

Any who have done this and have ideas and pictures I would love to hear
your comments and see pics.

Thanks

I used some glue on floor tiles that closely matched the wall paper to cover the exposed aluminum and for all practical purposes you can't tell the difference.

The table now no longer squeaks or wiggles when using the table.

The cost is reasonable and I got a little tour of their facility while I was there as well.
Maybe this will be of some help for the table part of it.

I curious to see the responses. My wife and I do not like our "Denny's Booth" in our camper and would like to remove that and replace with table and chairs. The question is will we get our $$ back on resale. Plus tables and chairs are $$$.
We will loose needed storage space.
Decisions, decisions.

JohnRR,

My configuration will now allow that setup of a table. I have seen these and
thought it be nice, but not dice...

Shawn,

I know lots of people completely remove them and put in a table a chairs. But for us there 2 reason I don't want to remove the dinette. 1. Is that
we have a setup we used to store 5 bikes on top of them during traveling. I can post a pic if you like. Then the 2 is I don't want to loose the unseat
storage. I think just replacing the side wall of the "Denny's Booth" so it
has some strength. To make it look nicer and hold up.
