Watch the price closely even when you ask out the door. Stafford RV in VA tried to put it in the contract at last minute. With the Internet allowing folks to compare prices, it is a new form of bait and switch. I was told the Internet price was a mistake after driving 120 miles to see it. They never corrected it online. It was a 2007 Sunline. The prep charge was more than 10% of the purchase price, 1,400. Would not waive it. Implied that they would not even check out mechanicals if I did not pay it...so I passed. Started shopping for an AF and found two dealers with various charges and two straight up. Bought the 25P at a fair price with no gimmicks in Seattle. Would not negotiate with the plus plus approach.

Long ago I worked for a company that would sell you a 200 dollar accessory for 175, the best price on the web, but then they'd hit you with a 50 dollar "Shipping and handling"

It's a way to mark down the sticker price but still make a profit.. Actually, though I ojbect to this (I think they should tell you the "Out the driveway" price) in many states it's to your benefit.

I pay a "Tax" every year based on the value of my motor home (It is called a registration fee but the Federal government says that since it is based on the sticker price of the house it's a "Tax" and thus is treated like property tax on my 1040).

Well.... By charging all these excessive 'Fees" they cut down on the price, and thus on the tax.

Still.. I'm in favor of "Truth in selling" and in advertising as well. That is "out the driveway pricing".

Home is where I park it!
