Do you cut your mini blinds around the window latch?

The mini blinds won't close properly because of the window latch that screws the window open and shut is in the way. Do most cut the mini blinds around the latch? Seems a little janky but what other option do we have?

Yes. I have a door that has blinds by the handle and I cut the blinds back to where they don't interfere.

Trim it nice and if anybody asks just say it came from the factory that way.
