Do you have a "Camper Fund" in your family budget?
Do you have a "Camper Fund" in your family budget?
We do..so when asked "What do you want for Christmas, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc" the answer is money and gift cards for the Camper Fund.
I am fortunate that the Wife and I equally share our passion for our hobby - Camping, RVing, Glamping meaning we pool our resources to feed our passion.
We always have a list of mods, upgrades and tweaks for our StormPOD. This year our take of gifts and contributions will make it possible to make a sizable dent in the living list.

Every payday I pull out the same amount of cash from my bank. When the next payday rolls around, what's left in my pocket goes into a desk drawer and is considered camping money. That stash encompasses all things camping related; gas, food, parts, site fees, etc. It is basically there for "emergency use". Meaning, when we want to head to a state park but don't have the extra money in the bank to finance our R&R.
Had to dip into it last week to order a new water pump.

We have such an account. We put a set amount in it each month. Our son and daughter-in-law gave us a VISA cash card for Christmas to add to our fund for a huge trip we're taking next spring/summer.

Yeah, it is my regular account. Sometimes getting away is more important than the bills! I have another account for fun money - which I use for going to bike week or other fun activities. So I guess that includes camping too.

No. Time is our enemy, but we do get away whenever time allows.

As I enter retirement, my days of Nice Pvt CG's might be ending and I'll be dry camping in the desert again. Paying 50+ a night gets old quick. When this TT and truck are done it will be time to do something else.

We have a "Mad Money" fund. Both MoparMom and myself contribute funds to this every chance we get. You learn that we RARELY ever stay in pay campgrounds or RV parks. 90% of all our travels is purely boondocking.

Every month I add money to our camper and truck account.
In fact I am spending some of it now on a new truck.
