Do you have mud flaps on your tow vehicle?
Hubby thinks we need to get mud flaps installed on our truck in order to help protect the front of our TT while on the road. I am not convinced this is a need.
So, do you have them?

My "tow vehicle" is a motor home... and yes... it has mud flaps.

Yes, mud flaps front and rear and Luverne steps cab to rear wheel, 3500 4x4. Hubby's prerogative.

Yes we do.
Before the flaps we always a lot of road dirt on the front of the trailer.
Now, we get very little.
A good investment.
I would do it again.

If you value what you are towing(does not matter what it is) do what ever you can to protect it while tow it! Make sure the flaps are not to close to the ground, as they will cause more of a problem by whipping up the debris on the road......but yes, your hubby does need them

Yes!!! Don't have a TT yet (shopping), but do have a fairly new truck. 1st thing I did was install flaps at all wheels to protect the truck, and vans do throw a little more water up than P/U trucks, so I am considerate of those behind me. I got 20+ years out of my previous van without the lower panels being destroyed. Running boards also help a lot besides adding convenience for getting in and out of a vehicle with higher ground clearance.

I tow mine with my TT has a black stone guard but I don't want to chip or deny it I was guna make one but figured it would be easier to buy a rock tamer for $100 bucks that claps on my hitch I got it off amazon.

Mud flaps are a good investment, they need to be wide enough to keep the debris from going around them, and as was said above, not too close to the ground, 6 to 8" should be enough clearance to keep from kicking up road stuff.

You will want your mud flaps to be right behind the tires, front and rear to stop all the rocks.
You need them to be the full size style that cover your tires, and are around 7" off the ground to stop the rocks. The contoured hard platic style will not give your trailer any protection.
DuraFlap has a drill-less style mud flap so you do not need to drill any holes in your truck to install them.

Hi wthesing, I too am investigating TT's . I'd love to compare notes. Things like: the Jayco dealer told me their trailers had a one-piece I beam construction (not three pieces welded together). Also, most trailer boxes sit on top of the frame and is tack welded. Jayco said their tongue supports go into the actual trailer frame. I want to use mine for full timing. I've looked at North Trail, Wildwood and Spree besides Jayco. Any thoughts as to which TT is constructed the best?

First thing i did when i bought my used Dodge was to put mud flaps on, wouldn"t have a truck without them.
