Thank you for all the input - some raised new questions and other confirmed what I was thinking. We have decided on the 231RBDS and are in negotiations with Colerain RV here in Delaware, Oh.

We are considering a few of the Freedom expresses campers as well. I will tell you that for a family or more then two people the thing I am concerned with is storage. There is very little in the campers under 30 feet. I think of things like blankets pillows, food, the stuff you need for a week of of camping both good weather and bad. In some campers with bunk hunk houses even if there is lack of main room storage there is room for things in the bunk house. I don't see space for that in either model. The under bed storage is about it and the below compartment, but you will be using that for gear. However I like the 248 the best. YOU GET A SOFA... and it's nice to sit there vs the dinette. I'd go with that one since you asked. GOOD LUCK with your decision, it is so hard to choose from such wonderful options.

I liked the 248 also - the sofa was a great feature. In the end it was the lack of counter space and the size of the shower (compared to the 231) that swung the decision to the 231.

We did sign on the dotted line today and ordered a 231RBDS that should be here the end of February. We liked the laid back, no pressure, style of our salesperson Ryan at Colerain in Delaware, Oh. After a few back and forth negotiations I feel like we got a good deal. I'd be ok with sharing the details if anyone is interested.

Also, while you have a few weeks to wait, research and get a quality WDH. By quality I mean not the kind that have friction bars.

I'm very pleased with the Blue Ox I have. Lots of good feedback on Equilizer Sway-Pro and Andersen.

Thank you for the congratulations. We are excited to get our new Freedom Express 231rbds by the end of February. I will definitely post pictures upon its arrival. Looking forward to a great season of camping beginning early spring.
