Dull fiberglass
Our 2012 Jayco Whitehawk is looking dull. What is the best cleaner and wax to use?

If it's the nose cap, usually some 1500 'grit' compound and an electric buffer will clean that gel coat. Then it needs to be sealed and waxed. There is no magic solution to cleaning up neglected fiberglass. If it's the entire trailer body, be prepared. It will take many hours of your time. If there are decals, you have to be careful around them. If it's really bad, then a Poli-Glo application will do wonders and last for a couple years with no more then an occasional wash and fresh waxing. As far as various sealers and wax, Meguiar's is my favorite though there are many others as good or even better but may be much more expensive for that exclusivity: MeguiarsDirect.com:Official Meguiars Online Store | MeguiarsDirect.com.

I have used Bar Keepers Friend,(not on the decals) then washed with Dawn dish soap followed by a really good rinse. After it is dry apply 3 coats of Zep Wet Look floor polish. Each coat should dry for 30 mins. before applying the next. Type Zep in the search button above. Lots of info.

The fiberglass is going dull in just 2 years? Did you ever wax it? I better put another coat a wax on mine.

So, just curious, but what happens to the Zep finish over time and what is the routine maintenance? How do you remove the Zep if you wanted to?

Zep is an acrylic mixture that will wear with time. My rig still looks good after one year on the road. It is a big job to prepare the surface. There is a stripper for it.
BTW, ZEP High Traffic formula has a higher acrylic content than their Wet Look formula.

I use Turtle Wax Zip Wax car wash and wax on our Whitehawk. On the roof I use a car wash brush.

I can't imagine me using a floor wax on a $25,000-?????? investment - but those who do, it is you choice

I try to use a speed wax every month or two. 303 makes a good one. just delaying the en-evadable yellowing and slow decay as the TT returns to the earth.

Got a 2013 Viewfinder that has been washed and waxed religiously - the front cap is fading and cloudy after being in our family for 15 months ( it was built November 2012) - and the front cap is staring to show micro cracks all over! Neither Cruiser RV or Dealer is answering! I even went to a competitor Manufacturer and asked if the issues have ever came up ( I have seen it on a couple of other manufacturer's) and as soon as I broached the subject - bam - Salesman gone - Service Rep - gonzo. The "Exit Stage Left" was of classic cartoon era! I may get it Color matched bed linered and call it a day! So, it's not always from lack of maintenance!! Oh, and the rest of the trailer is very good with no factory issue's - other than a couple of things self inflicted by us!

It mostly depends on where you live and travel. I did mine about 1 1/2 years ago and it is beginning to yellow (RV in Florida). The ZEP products do NOT contain UV Inhibitors (not their fault ... it's a floor polish). If you have a dark color you probably wouldn't notice ... mine is 75% white  .
As for me, I won't use it again. It can be stripped with ZEP Stripper ... but not easily.
Others will tell you it doesn't yellow ... ya' takes yer' chances.

I see that 3M Scotchguard makes some Marine wax that is tough and has UV blockers. Might be worth a try.

Bought a 2012 Keystone Outback TT used in 4/13. Looked great until 3 months otr. Top 4' or 5'of front cap faded and developed 2 3" cracks in gelcoat. Also looks like little spider wrinkles in other areas. Called dealer & mfg but of course they haven't heard of this before. I'm looking for someone to repair.
