I just purchased a 2014 Cruiser Radiance. I was offered this Duratain coating. Is this necessary? It does look like there is some lightening of the paint on the front cover so I want to protect it as much as possible. After reading a couple threads about waxing their rvs I feel like it would help.

I too am interested to see what people have to say. I was offered this on a trailer I was looking at. The cost was close to $2000. That seems excessively high to me. Yes it may help but $2k seems steep. I think most of it is just a profit maker for the dealership. But I am new to all this so I will let the experts weigh in.

I had it put on mine i have a 2014 sunset trail one thing to think about
is if your brand has had trouble with fading like on mine brand on the front cap they will not cover it so you may ask them about that, i have some fading starting on my cap so i'm screwed on that but the rest of the trailer looks great just the way it should i just use wash and wax 4 or 5 times a year to keep it looking good.

I had it done on my passport 2890rl. It is now 15 months old and have to admit it still looks brand new. Took this trailer from coast to coast twice. Lots of bugs and dust. It's expensive but beats having to wax it. The truck is hard enough let alone a 11 foot by 30 foot trailer.

I will give it 2 thumbs up for Duratain. I had it applied to my TT last month and this past week end I decided to trim back some blackberry vines with a weed eater. Failed to realize that the blackberries and juices would be applied to the side of my TT. I could not take it off immediately and it wasn't till the next day that I was able to get it to clean it up. After it had baked on from the hot sun, but all it took was clear water and a rag to get it stuff off easy as it could get and no stains. I think it is worth the price. I can not speak of it's longevity but I like it.

From email conversation with a Duratain rep all you have to do is wash it with dawn dish soap. She said do not use any product that is wash and wax. She said it will cause streaks on the side wall.

If you don't mind a little work annually you might consider a product called costacoat... you can find it on ebay....

It was suggested to me on my older unit... we followed the directions and have a nice layer of this product... and its UV protection should help slow down the fading of decals...
