As I have recently have finished most of the roof repairs and other structural stuff My ? is the wiring to the 12 V system Black&white to the Batt I feel should be Blk Hot + batt and white Neutral - Batt
Reason is the ? is that heat nor the the fridge will fire Im thinking the polarity may wrong as I have read both units are Reverse polarity protected The furnace doesn't even try the thermostat checked good @ 7+ amps the blower would dim the lights the fridge pilot should at least have a pilot light (bulb) lit ??? I would try the 110 V but none available.

I forgot the owners Father in law lived in it until he got his own place as stated every thing was in working order

Most 12v electrical wiring i have played with (lots) the black is always neg. Usually the pos is red but rvs i have found use white, red, brown, grey, I gues watever color they had.

Wire colors / function, in my motor home, depend on what system. Chassis wiring seems to follow automotive color code with black being ground, and colors positive function. Working in the coach I find the black is now 12v positive. Everything I have worked on inside the coach seems to be wired like house wiring. Black 'hot' white neutral. I now use a polarity protected DVM to determine positive / negative polarity working on anything on the motor home. I do not trust wire color to tell me anything. I use my meter every time since I wired a led light fixture backward, thinking black was ground. I messed with that thing way too long

before I got my meter out and checked polarity.

In a camper, usually the ground wire will go to the frame close to the battery box on the tongue. Probably black. Should be easy enough to just follow it.
