Anyone have experience with Enternabond roof tape? Wondered if I could use it to seal the front and rear area where the roof meets the camper.

Yes, this is exactly what EternaBond is used for. It sticks to virtually any clean, solid surface and lasts forever while still staying flexible.

That is what I have read. I just ordered a 4"x50' roll for that purpose. Also going to tape around the skylights & roof vents. You need to make sure that the surface is cleaned with mineral spirits (I believe, I will need to reread the instructions) before installing the tape.

Would using the tape eliminate the need to reseal every year?

From what I've heard from those that use it, it lasts for several years. T

I believe acetone is the recommended cleaner for using Eternabond (or their special cleaner) ... Clean is the goal.... Then the tape should last for many years ... eliminating a Lot of expensive trips to the RV dealer...I'm getting ready to do my 20' Jayco TT... My dealer wanted $1200.00 a year to inspect and re-seal the roof ... That's just CRAZY !!! The best Eternabond I could buy only costs around 120 bucks ... and is supposed to last 25 years ... That should eliminate many long term problems ...

The new Trailer Life has an ad for a Dicor tape, which is offered as a competitor to Eternabond. I have no idea what the comparative cost is, but I thoght the price of Eternabond was rather high when I checked some months ago........on the other hand...people have used Eternabond, and have had good results. My trailer is new enough, that I haven't had to buy any tape yet...but I will go with one or the other when I do..

Love the Eternabond tape. The key to putting it down is to have the surface clean-clean-clean. Scrub and scrape any loose sealant in the joint and make sure it is dry before applying the tape.

Anybody have a web site with the best (cheapest) prices for the tape?

We bought our Eternabond from a sheet metal roofing supply house ... priced less than the RV suppliers ... typically...

Dicor, their caulk doesn't hold up , so why should their tape ... I just don't trust anything used by RV manufacturers anymore ...
