Yes , I use the step support ; screw type with 5" square plates on each end; I park for 4 1/2 months at a time and put the support on after the second day .
To insure the coach has settled ; I'm parked in a gravel site.

I use one. I feel like with our weight the steps would benefit from some additional support. We have 3 steps.

Homemade was too much fussing. Because it needs to pressed under the step firmly the twisting metal one works better. I got mine off amazon, the shorter one has been adequate for us.

One warning, my DH cant seem to remember its under there before lowering the camper to leave, another time he retracted the step with it under it. Thank heavens no damage was done because it could have been awful.

Even with notes all over the place to remind him, the slap bracelet on the steering wheel was noticed to late. I take it out from under the step when we first start to get ready to leave.

I made a set for our 3 step FW. I used common materials like a 1" pipe, with a 1/2" nut welded on top of the pipe. For top and bottom plates, I used elec junction box covers and welded 1 plate to a 1/2 bolt and the other plate to the pipe bottom.

Bob Caldwell - so does that style really help with limiting the movement of the RV when someone goes up or down the steps? I guess what I'm asking is does it stop RV movement or just reduce RV movement when someone is on the steps?

I have a class A and it does help with the wiggling when someone goes up the steps. My husband would go out fishing and it would wake me early because the long overhang in the rear where the bed is wiggles like an amusement park ride. They aren't terribly expensive. I was wrong I guess I purchased the taller one.

Everything you can do helps.....I use X Chocks, rear electric stabilizer, and added another electric stabilizer to just in front of the front axle, and have JT Strong arms on front landing gear....also, steps are height adjustable, along with the feet..
