Evergreen I-Go - Water Tank Problem

I just purchased an Evergreen I-Go camper. The advertised fresh water capacity is 36 gallons. During my 1st camping trip I seemed to run out of fresh water very quickly so I suspected I was not getting anywhere near the advertised capacity. When I returned home I leveled the camper, filled the fresh water tank till water was running steadily out of the fill tube and started drawing water out of kitchen sink using an empty 1 gal milk jug to measure the amount. I was only able to fill the jug 18 times before sucking air. This means that I am getting exactly 1/2 of the advertised fresh water capacity from my I-Go.
I returned the RV to my dealership and they said that is how the tank and pick up tube was designed by Evergreen. The only way they can fix it is to come up with some sort of jury rig solution and Evergreen may not approve the fix.
This issue has got me unhappy enough with my Evergreen product to consider returning it and asking for my money back due to false advertising on Evergreen's part. I would never have bought this unit if I knew the actual fresh water capacity was only 18 gallons.
Has anybody else experienced this problem from their Evergreen or any other brand RV? I can see coming a bit short on the advertised capacity, but to me 18 gal is unacceptable. Any advice or comments would be welcome.

Find the water tank and see how it is plumbed. You might be able to simply move the outlet for the water system to a low point.

This does sound like false advertising, however if the tank holds the advertised amount, they could simply say they are telling the truth even if you can't access it using the water system in the trailer. Sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place.

I wouldn't have bought it if I knew this to be the case beforehand, either.

I would make a direct call to Evergreen and see what they say. Not that I don't believe everything a dealer says......but.

My I-go at about eight months in started to delaminates beside a piece of the front trim. I took it in and the Rv shop said it had never been sealed.. They called Evergreen and were told it wasn't under warranty..so I called and talked to a guy named Dan Dobecki and he said it was a maintenance issue and should have been checked every three months.. They wouldn't pay a dime and the guy was a jerk about it.. I will never buy another evergreen product..

My thanks to all for the feedback. I have the trailer in the dealership now and they have a few ideas on how to fix the water issue. A guy from Evergreen called me and had another idea for them to try. I will add another post when I get the trailer back that details the results of the dealership's work. Hopefully they can get me closer to the stated 36 gallon capacity.

My dealer came up with a possible solution to the low fresh water capacity in my Evergreen I-Go. They tee'd into the fresh water drain tube just as it exits the bottom of the tank and hooked my fresh water pump into the system at that point. This is the lowest possible position in the water system and looks to me to be the best solution to the problem. I will try it out the next time we go camping.
