BOA is the worst. They made $18 billion this year and they still want more. Their latest ploy cost them customers.

Not to defend any bank (they all bite), but they were good for me. When we bought the current MH last January, they were the only lender that would approve a loan on a used vehicle with only 10% down. The rate was fair at 5.99%, but I converted it to a credit union home equity line of credit at below 3% three months later.

Credit unions are the way to go, imo.

That just proves that BOA will do anything to get your money; Fees, rates, etc.

BOA is again in the news. HLN reports that BOA has to refund billions of dollars for again over-charging customers in the way they process charges to your account.

BOA would assess your account with the highest charges first, and if that caused an over draft, they would hit you with hundreds of dollars of over-draft fees. Other banks did this back in the 70s and got fined for it. BOA thought they could hide it within their other fees and get away with it this time.

I.E. if your mortgage payment caused an over-draft, you would get hit with an over-draft fee, then, a $4.00 charge for your Starbucks would also create an over-draft fee. That over-draft fee would create another over-draft fee that would multiply for each additional charge to your account, and that was also an over-draft.

Got that? Over-draft, upon Over-draft, caused more over-drafts. And you wonder why there are protests across the country.

TCF Bank did, and still does as I am told, this.. They would pull ALL Debits from the account first, even if you showed up at 8 am and deposited cash first... I hated them.. My account lasted 5 days.

That's right. They would deduct your checks first, before crediting your deposits. What do banks do with all the gouging money they get? They sure as heck are reluctant to loan it out.
