Update, I got our TT back today, they have fixed every thing that was wrong with it, they replaced the 13,500 btu. AC with a new 15,000 btu AC. looks like they have done a good job, ready for our next trip.

That's wonderful Hitchpin so glad you did not have a long drawn out fight. That dealer and Forest River should be commended for doing right by you. None of it should have happened in the first place but when it did they did you right, glad to hear it.

Still when you have some time go over everything on that trailer-tighten, check for anything not right.

Every trailer needs to have any holes in the floor around piping fitted with steel wool to keep out critters.

Hope you can camp in peace now.

Maybe a revolutionary idea, would be to start having floor drains installed in RVs. Every room with a sink/faucet/toilet in it, would be RVIA mandated to have floor drains installed....

It'll never happen though...

My first toy hauler had one of those electric recirculating toilets with a dump valve plumbed under it. I would remove a man hole cover, back over it and dump.

I have been envious of those who can afford these beautiful new trailers. My budget never allowed for that.... but man... after reading of your trials, I'm glad I bought old and used for thousands less. I know I'm going to have issues.... I expect to have to fix them.

Your situation was quite scary.... especially the loose hub issue.

With a bit of luck, the previous owner will have already fixed most of them.

MMMMMMM after reading some of these horror stories am wondering what our first trip will be like. Purchased a new Spree Escape 200s with our first trip planned for the Columbus day weekend, just hope we have better luck.

It might be smart to spend the night in it sooner close to home or better yet close to the RV sales and service lot.

The moral of this story carry a very complete tool kit and do a shake down trip close to home. I carry extra bearing sets in grease tools, electrical spares and VOM.

Hitchpin,

You have just articulated my nightmare as a brand new RV owner who has yet to take delivery. Who did you purchase your trailer from?
