So is this pretty much a Livin' Lite TT with Ford trim on it? Kinda like the "John Deere" walk behind mowers they sell at Lowes? Don't get me wrong, I drive a Ford and am a huge Ford fan. But what are we exactly looking at here?

I don't think Ford dealers will be doing the warranty work on these. I wonder how much Ford Paid for that.

Ford tried this once before, in the mid 70's starting with a truck camper and a long wheel base pickup built to carry the camper.

The problem was, in my opinion, they tried to get the camper built to automotive specs with engineering standards and actual testing etc. They couldn't compete pricewise with the crappy stuff thrown together in Elkhart.

Then the gas crisis killed the whole thing.

Same thing will happen again. Ford has deep pockets and can't afford to put their name on typical RV quality junk so price will be too high. Then, there's the dealer problem. As bad as they are, Ford dealers are angels compared to the average RV dealer so they won't be able to bleed the customers as much for extra profit.

Seems I recall a few RV's with the GMC logo and even a add on unit to the Blazer.

GM built a Motorhome during the 70's also. It used a Toronado front drive engine and drive train. Very low and sleek vehicle. Same problem as Ford, built to automotive standards, too expensive compared to Indiana junk.

The K5 Blazer Chalet. VERY rare and ever more rare to find one if good condition. I'd give my left....um.... jewel for one.

Nothing but a licensing agreement.
