Fort Worth RV Show - 1/8/15

DW and I visited the Fort Worth RV show yesterday. First, I must say that this forum has really prepared us for our 1st RV show and I was not surprised at what we found. Some of the sales people had trouble with some questions about the TT to include the construction of the roof, R-rating of walls, floor and ceiling, and the dry weight of the trailers. Some of the trailers had debris, screws, saw dust, and other material under the seat cushions and in the cabinets. At the end of a long day, we couldn't say any of the TT really rang our bell with the exception of the Open Range TTs. However, all the Open Range TTs exceeded the towing capacity of my truck and my wallet.

(Footnote. Some of the sales people tried to convince us that our Tow Vehicle could easy handle a 10,000 lbs trailer. With the help of this forum, I already knew that we should be in the 6500 lbs range.)

Finally, we actually learned a considerable amount at this RV show using guidance and advice from this irv2 neighborhood.

And so it goes.

Spent the day there today. Didn't see much of anything new other than 2015 should known as the year of the bath and a half!

Really liked the models from Grand Design

Seemed to be a lot of young couples with strollers there Saturday--that is good for the industry. We like to go and see what might be new even tho we aren't in the market. I was really impressed with the KingAire MH that had a MSRP of $909995, show price of 'just $599,995'-- and appeared to be SOLD. Darn, missed a real deal there.

Every part of those high $$$ Motorhomes are nicer than any part of my home ... except my house is paid off!

I was there Saturday. I liked the Grand Design Reflection TTs, but they were a bit pricey. I need my bed so I won't do a 5er. I liked the Palomino Solaire with the back door, but the woodwork inside looked like vinyl-clad particle board. Funny that we know each other on these forums, but wouldn't know each other from Adam if we passed at the show...

Was that price in US dollars or the 85cent Canadian Loonie???
Just asking??
Most of the RVs sold in Canada are built in the US...so buying an RV sold in USDollars to Canadian dealer ...they need to sell them at 10 to 15 % plus their markup just to pay for the dollar exchange and make a profit.

Coops
