Fridge on propane?
Quick questions -
My 2018 Coleman Lite TT needs warranty work this week and Camping World will probably have my trailer for a couple days (3rd water leak, this time it’s under the shower/tub area) -
How long will my fridge/freezer stay cold while on propane only?
Should I just empty my fridge/freezer while the dealership has my TT?
They will have my trailer for at least 2 days.

I would empty the refrig to be safe. You never know if the repair shop might turn off the gas or worse the pilot light could blow out/leak while they were welding on a rig near by.
You did say Camping World, right? Never know what's going to happen there.

You will definitely make two days, probably two months if nothing else is drawing off the tank/tanks.

Refrigerators use very little propane. Some folks will worry about off level, but the new ref. are not easily damaged by off level. You will be O.K. I would leave a note on the ref. that it is on.

It's a new trailer. No pilot light anymore.

Empty it! Nobody knows what will happen, or what the shop policy is regarding running appliances while inside a shop.

Propane will last for months
Battery power will NOT
Fridge needs 12v DC to function
Battery can run down in 2 days.then fridge stops working
And OFF LEVEL will KILL a fridge..new style/old style does NOT matter
20 mins of off level operation can cause overheating due to lack of coolant flow
Coolant flow is 'natural heat/cold convection' with gravity flow
Slow/stop that coolant and tubes get hot,.......heat stress/fatigue and sodium chromate in coolant crystallizes. Crystals plate out causing more coolant flow issues.more overheating ..........damage is accumulative and PERMANENT
Do NOT operate any absorbent gravity flow type fridge off level......DEATH

I’m going to ask Camping World this morning. I’m assuming they’ll have my trailer for 2 days but that’s just a guess. I have a water leak under the shower and behind/beneath the adjacent cabinet. Seems like something not to hard to fix, right? I mean, dealerships deal with leaks all the time, don’t they?
