Furnace Servicing

Just got back from our first multi day trip with our 2000 Keystone Springdale. Nights were in the low 30's and the heat did great,but just didn't sound like it was burning rite. Any idea how to service it { clean orvice,etc.}. the thermostat has Dou-therm on it but no idea about the the furnace. Burned about 4 gals of propane for 3 nights, normal ???

Go to the furnace and find a sticker or nameplate with the Mfr., model# and serial number. Ask the mfr for a owner's manual and service manual.

If you have a big door for the furnace outside, it's an Atwood. Just vents on the outside is a Suburban.
Atwood's can be accessed from the outside door, and you just remove the parts of it you need.
Suburban has to be removed and put on bench.

You COULD also have an LP pressure issue.

If that's the case it's a Suburban, how does it come out ? the access to the blower and such is a removable panel below the frig.

You do it all from the vent panel below the refr. Disconnect the LP line, four wire (red, yellow, blue, blue), a couple screws, ducts if they are there, and pull it out.

Thanks, just have to decide if it's worth pulling out, like said it heats great ! Any opinion on the propane use ? We heated three nights near the freezing mark and used about 4-5 gallaons of propane,did do some cooking and hot water on it also, but only ran them thru the night and evenings when we returned.

4-5 gallons in colder weather, without skirting sounds about right.

75 or so gallons (large tank set outside) lasts us 1 1/2-2 months with being set up for winter living in one spot, and we use the stove, oven, and water heater as well. Even at 1 1/2 months, that puts us at 1.66 gallons/day (this was with our '78 Tioga as well as our '92 30ft Dutchmen).

You will use much less in warmer weather.
