Spent the weekend at Mckinney COE campground in Cartersville, GA! WOW! What a nice camprground! I had water on 3 sides of the site! Beautiful! Level paved parking pad with nice gravel area where the tabel and fire ring were. VERY NICE!! No issues with the camper as this was a shakedown run.

I highly receommend this CG if anyone is interested for future reference.

Anyone interested in Lake Altoona should check out Red Top Mountain State Park. No concrete, a lot more rustic and their pet policy is a lot less restrictive. With a daughter living north of Atlanta, I camp there several times a year. We've had our dogs all over the park and swimming in the lake. Whether you camp there or not you need to hit the lodge on Friday night. They have one awesome "all you can eat fish fry".
