Hey rideandslide, no one was accusing the odor of coming from your tanks!

The only time I smell my gray tank is when dumping. It's often worse than the smell from the black tank, but my solution is take a few steps away until its done. No chemicals needed.

I don't use anything in the black tank anymore either. The only time I've gotten an odor was when the toliet wouldn't hold water. I do make sure than plenty of water goes down and that it's not dumped until over half full.

Grey tanks can acumulate oils and particles. Look in your sink trap and you'll see. Strainers keep out big stuff but there's still accumulation. Both tanks can be cleaned with Calgon water softener and Dawn soap. Look into Geo method. It's very easy and effective for both tanks. Will clean all the old stuff out of black and also help keep sensors working. I've only found the stuff at Walmart.
