Help... Electrical Issues

Hoping to hear some sound advice hear on troubleshooting. Walked in today and electric awning switch wouldn't work. Then as I am checking the rear of the switch I get enough power to move it out about an inch and it will not retract. Changed out switch, and nothing. Checked fuse. Blown. Replaced fuse. Nothing. TT has 2 slides one works other doesn't. Everything was working until, boom nothing. Ideas of where to even start?

Welcome to iRV2.

Battery voltage ?
Or are you on shore power?
Trying to use high load devices , can take out fuses if battery power is low.

Shore power. Volt meter is showing 12 at the switch wires. Is it possible that there is an issue behind the inverter? It has "hummed" quite loud since I bought it (2015 model but got it used)?

Ok so I found a blown fuse on the slide and it works now. Have checked voltage on both sides of awning switch to be 12+. So that leaves me with the awning motor. Right??? Nothing else between switch and motor? Of course problem I see is how do you get the housing cover off? The screws are so close to the camper I can't get a them.

12 volt + is OK, but did you check the ground side? Maybe a bad connection there?

If you can access the actual motor housing assembly, try a jumper directly between it and a solid ground on the RV.

Yes, ground side is showing 12+ as well. I have looked at diagrams of awning and to go straight to motor but how can I get the cover off if I can't get to the screws? Can I just pull it out without causing damage?

If you can obtain the make and model of the awning, possibly the manufacturer has info about dis-assembly on the internet.

Youtube videos are sometimes helpful also.
