Not sure on that one but 14 1/2 ", top of the tow hitch ball, used to be a kind of industry standard. Of course that was the 80's . Every thing's changed since the 80's

I guess everything in the industry has changed since the majority of tow vehicles have gone over from rear wheel drive passenger cars ; remember them ; to P/U trucks.

THe 22" should just get you close, but will not substitute for trial and error hooking up the hitch to get it perfect.

Setting the ball height on the truck to any height someone throws at you is 100% guesswork. Depends on the truck, the size of the truck, your suspension, and the tongue height of the trailer when level. The only way to tell where it should be is to go through the hitch setup instructions.

etrailer.com has a video that will help you get real close to where you should be. It is very important to get it right and to make marks on the hitch and the trailer then make notes so you will have every detail the next time you need your trailer for a trip. That video has helped me get mine right on the money. Meaning a real smooth controlled worry free ride every time! Good luck.
