Holding Tank Monitors / Is There A Better System

It seems no matter how well we maintain our holding tanks the monitors never seem to read the right levels. Sitting level sometimes I am 3/4 full after 1 day and at other times just the opposite. Is there a better system out there that may be more accurate????

The SeeLevel syatem seems to be one of the better ones out there but it can be fooled by gunk building up on the tank walls too.
The HORST probes are much less expensive and a lot of people have reported good results with them.

Hi Stan, ours was showing E right after dumping, I added my chemicals to the tank with 1/2 gal. of water. the monitor would now read 2/3 Full, this was a NEW trailer. after taking it back to dealer the FOURTH time, a young tech. LOOKED INSIDE the tank!! That Silicone Glue they Slop around had Dripped onto the Sensors, the Small amount of water sloshed and touched the bottom sensor, with glue acting as a wick it went to the next sensor giving a false reading. after it was scraped off I had no more problems.

If the toilet is a direct drop into the tank, a stick pushed to the bottom of the tank and the level of wetness on the stick will give an accurate, foolproof reading of tank's condition.

Other than that, just pay attention to how much you've put down the drains.

The following video, while long, shows how much stays in a tank after repeated flushing and various configurations.
