Hot Water Heater issue

Maybe someone can help me with this issue I have been experiencing. Upon pressing the propane button on the master panel, initially the switch lights up then the fault light kicks on after a minute or so. Same goes for pushing the electric switch, minus the fault light. For some reason I decided to flip propane switch followed by the electric
With both switches on I can hear it pushing propane but it wont light. I perform the same action again, but I leave the door to hot water heater open on accident. It lights immediately and I am having trouble wrapping my head around this one. Assistance would be greatly appreciated

There is likely a blockage of air affecting it. Check the burn tube for spider webs or mud dauber nest.

No luck

At first, I was able to get it to light with the door closed using only the propane switch. After about an hour I decided to try the electric as well, didn't have the same luck. Somehow after trying this, I wasnt able to get the unit to light up using only propane and I had to revert back to the original way of using the propane switch, pausing for a few seconds, then flipping the electric switch on. I apologize for my response taking so long. Been a long week and I have basically come in from work and crashed out. Maybe this action will help to figure this problem out. Thanks in advance and I appreciate everyone's help

Mine has a switch at the water heater and inside the trailer for electric operation. Both have to be on for it to work.

Brand & Model would be MOST helpful.....

Sounds like it could be an Atwood and newer then 2004
Those models use common DC to control BOTH electric & propane

If a Suburban then is must be a 'DEL' model...only one that uses DC to control both electric & propane

Otherwise the electric has nothing to do with the propane as all other models use separate controls. (electric direct 120VAC & propane 12VDC)

So if it uses a commonc DC Control.......then cirauit board is faulty
