Sorry didn't see that u found I only have on off inside for gas took me a while to find this switch had a piece of foil over it foolish

It is absolutely critical that you turn the electric switch on the water heater off when you emptly the water tank (winterize) and leave the trailer plugged in to charge the batteries. Otherwise you will burn the heating element out.

Turning that switch to OFF is part of our break down list when we are leaving the campground. Not back on again till we set back up and purgeany air from the heater. Like said, element on with no water around it, new element time !!!

Personally, I wouldn't ever use the plastic switch on a Suburban. Been shocked by them before, more than once, and they go bad a lot. The 120V breaker inside is a much better idea.

Yup. I have changed what I call it because "Hot Water Heater" is redundant and repetitive. <grin>

So tank that heats water until it is hot water tank doesn't work?

I was going to say that I leave the switch on and just shut the breaker off luckily when I use electric I haven't forgot to shut it off. Well not yet

I have always been told that breakers should not be used as an off/on switch, it causes the to wear out and prematurely fail ??
Sure you can for servicing something, but not as a day to day switch.
