How can anyone complete the Travel Trailer Weight Calculator??

How can anyone complete the Travel Trailer Weight Calculator??
I tried and it's almost impossible. I Googled for hours trying to find the information for the fields this calculator requires and couldn't find it.

This is the information I could find so far;

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 Laredo w/ Type IV tow package
Base Curb Weight - Automatic Trans
4,677 lb + no idea what to add for the Type IV tow package
Capacity / Weights - Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
(GVWR) 6,500
GCWR - no clue

2016 Lance Travel Trailer 1995
GVWR: 5700
Dry Weight: 3950
Hitch Weight: 330
Weight with full tank of Propane is 4276 lbs

I don't know about the calculator you speak of, but I do know I pulled a similar weight trailer well over 12,000 miles, including out West with our old 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.7L Hemi without a lot of problems. Since then we've upgraded to an F150 and a bigger trailer. Leaving in the morning for another trip out West. :-)

Weight matters? I guess that's why my smart car's front wheels are off the ground...

OP, just open the door on your jeep and look for the sticker that says "Cargo and Passengers should never exceed XXXX"

Then calculate that your trailer will put 10% to 12% of it's actual weight on the vehicle as cargo. Then add yourself, others, gear, and gas. Are you over?

Plan on this being 500 lbs plus the weight of your actual hitch.

Try this if you want to know for sure.

Measuring trailer tongue weight with a bathroom scale

I would say there's no way you can tow that trailer! Look for 'Payload Calculator' online!

Go weigh the Jeep with you and a full tank of gas and subtract that from GVWR of 6500. That's your payload, then everything you add, wife, kids, stuff, hitch, tongue weight comes off that payload number. Leave your self some room for safety, 10% and see where you're at then. I bet you'll be overloaded before you're done. Good luck!

How can anyone complete the Travel Trailer Weight Calculator??

Ok I'm confused calculator shows I'm not using safety margin of 20%. I went to a truck stop that has a cat scale . I have a jeep rubicon unlimited towing a wildwood xlite 185rb .
I put a wdh which helped level tow vehicle out and sway bar . It towed fine. I may have a safety hazard ?

Fully loaded jeep and camper my weight is

How did you go about setting up your outfit on the scales. I have a VERY similar trailer (Viking) and I want to weight it all with my Trailblazer

Yes, I used the Changing Gears website
Travel Trailer Weight Calculator

I could not possibly provide all the information it required. That stuff simply is not published. BTW it is just me 250lbs and sometimes a friend. 160lbs. My weight limits will determine what extra stuff I bring along.
Fuel tank is 25 gallons x 8 lbs? that would be 200 lbs for full tank of gas.

Tow vehicle GVWR
Enter Gross Vehicle Weight Rating as provided by tow vehicle manufacturer.
- 6500 lbs provided by Jeep manufacturer

Tow vehicle GCWR
Enter Gross Combination Weight Rating as provided by tow vehicle manufacturer.
- Is not provided.

Tow vehicle maximum loaded trailer weight rating
Enter rating as provided by vehicle manufacturer. Is not provided.

Tow vehicle maximum tongue weight rating
Enter rating as provided by vehicle or hitch manufacturer, whichever is - less. -
1320 lbs but for some reason my sticker on the door jam only says 1030 lbs. weird.

Tow vehicle RGAWR
Enter Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating as provided by tow vehicle manufacturer. - Not published

Tow vehicle RGAW
Enter actual weight of tow vehicle's rear axle (Rear Gross Axle Weight), without trailer attached. no idea

Trailer GVW (or GTW)
Enter actual weight (Gross Vehicle Weight or Gross Trailer Weight) of trailer. - 4900 with Propane bottle full

Trailer tongue weight
Enter actual tongue weight of trailer. - 380 + Propane tank

I don't know where you've been looking but just about everything you say isn't published, is available (although I haven't seen the GCWR for your vehicle anywhere). That is normally in your owner's manual if you can't find it anywhere else. Gas is closer to 6# per gallon (water is 8#)
Here's one link Jeep Capabilities - Towing Capacity Chart

There's actually 3 independent scales and just placed a axle on each one. I even pulled just enough so I could actually unhook hitch and did another weigh to determine tongue weight by calculating difference . Then I pulled around and just weighed each tire to see if weight was balanced. There's a big shoulder and I easily left one tire off scale. For each side. I did everything for 18 bucks. Your first weigh in is $12 then all re-weighs in a 24 hour period are $2
I went in and apologized for all the weight request she said it's not a big deal campers do it all the time .
