How do I know?

We have been considering a larger TT. I posted earlier about going up in length. I have another question. How do I know the quality level of a manufacturer or models of different manufacturers?

Does a reliable rating system exist? Prices are everywhere. How do I know?

Good Luck...Everyone loves one or another...Get the best deal, the best floorplan, and if you don't have one yet. Get a sense of humor. You will need it no matter what you buy, who made it, or where you buy it...

It's a good question, one I pondered myself during my motorhome search. I think the way to find out is lots of research on sites like this, talking to sales people, going to rv shows and taking your time to sort out what is best for your needs and budget. Good luck.

As far as I know, Excel and Air Stream are the only manufacturers building what I would call a higher end and better quality travel trailer. If you want to see some quality in travel trailers, look at the Avion, Silver Streak, Streamline and Air Streams built in the 1970's and 1980's. These trailers were built to still be on the road in 20 plus years.

That is my honest opinion. We have had plastic boxes from the current manufacturers and decided we wanted a trailer for the long haul for now.

There are lots of good RV's out there, and some not so good. When you go shopping I suggest that you look way past the gingerbread and see how the manufacturer actually put it together. Start by opening the cabinets and see how much saw dust they left. When they cut a hole to run wires etc, did they put a grommet in or is it just a rough cut hole? Look past the hole and see if there is actually any insulation in the cavity. Pull drawers out and see how they are built. I hope you get the picture on how to spot a well built RV?
