My camper is 26'9" and it tows very well with an F-150. You just have to remember that the trailer tires will track to the inside of your vehicle turns. I have a good WD hitch and we have no problems with sway. I don't know what your tow vehicle is but any late model 1/2 ton pickup should handle that trailer with no problem.

A two axle will tow better than a single axle one. Usually at 20' is where masnufactors go with 2 axles, but there are a few budget brands that will only design a 20-22' trailer with one to save cost.

The first thing I noticed towing my first double axle tt from my single axle pop-up is I get far less "bounce". Driving over a chuck hole is far less of an event with 2 axles....

towing a TT

I am relatively a newbie in towing, but I did tow Lucy, my 18ft TT to Mich. I have a trailblazer with an equalizer hitch and had no problems. The 18 wheelers do affect her a little but nothing like before I changed the hitch. Backing up is my nemesis but I hope to get better as we travel. Doubt I will change the trailer, but if I do, I will need a heavier vehicle. ( Another car payment? NOOOO!)
Good luck and don't be afraid. If I can do it, anybody can. Lol!

Reverse is not my best gear. I like pull thru sites.

I never towed anything in my life till the past summer. I purchased a 27 1/2 ft TT. At 65 I did not want to learn but I slowly changed my mind and figured why not. It was/is great. Like others mention backing up is my weakness. I had a friend help me in giving me instructions and training in towing/backing up. I then went to a local county park and paid my day use fee and practiced backing into different site. A bit slow at 1st but got better. People would ask me what I was doing and I would tell them and they would tell me how smart that was. It was a good use in time and effort. Still need more practice but that will be next year. You should be fine. As others have said make sure your tow vehicle can handle it. A good rule is to stay about 80% of max so as not to wear out you vehicle too soon or not to over task your TV's capability. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

With the right tow vehicle...YES! And most state and federal campgrounds in California will accept you. I'm good at begging when I'm a little over length AND I tell the rangers that while I'm not the best at backing up I'm careful and slow.

Only 25 of our California State Parks accept trailers longer than 34 feet.

Hey a fellow Trailblazer puller! We pull a Viking 17FQ with an '05. GVWR of the trailer is 3500lbs and the MAx tow on the trailblazer is 5700. I can get 11-12 MPG in Colorado no less if I keep it around 62. Any higher and forget about the MPG..lol And so I don't completely hijack this.. OP, whats the tow vehicle?

We moved up from a PUP to a 25 ft TT. (22 ft box). We chose this size so we can wind through city streets to find quilt shops, yet it is big enough for two adults and a big dog.

The TT has a dry weight of 5000 lbs which translates to 6200 lbs and 750 lbs tongue weight accross the CAT scales when loaded for the road.

My F-150 4x4 has an E boost engine and handles the TT very nicely. However my max cargo capacity is 1411 lbs. so the tongue weight and camping gear take me to the limits.

In the last three years we have towed 25,000 miles in about every type of weather and road conditions.

Here is what you will find,
10 mpg average gas mileage.
55 to 65 mph and you will be passes by everything.
A 300 mile day is normal.

You will also find that wind and trucks will buffet the TT and takes some getting used to.

We really enjoy our travel experiences.

You will know you are towing as fuel mileage will be cut way down. Also semi-tractor trailers will push then pull you a bit with their air turbulence.

I towed a 5,500lb trailer with a 5.0litre F-150. I really liked that truck. But knowing what I know now, I would pull that same trailer with a diesel F-250/350 SRW truck.

A diesel truck makes towing easier.

I tow what's in my sig. TT is 24' bumper to hitch, gross weight is 5500 lbs (we will never be loaded that heavy), dry weight is 4215. Tow vehicle CC is 1777 on the sticker, so that's no problem for us. Tow rating is >10,000 according to the sources I've read, so I'm very well within all of those numbers.

To the OP, none of this means a thing unless you have the same tow vehicle as I have. Even then, although our trailers are similar, there is no way to tell how much differently it might tow. More information is needed.

The two biggest variables are vehicle max cargo which is vehicle dependent and how heavy you load your trailer.

Still maneuvering a 25 footer has never been an issue for us but you do have to plan gas stops etc. to make sure you can exit easy. Also watch for steep entrances and exits so you do not bottom out on the skid plates.

If you go to Grand Design website you will see the 2150 is actually 26'9". Not a problem and you will still find the towing very easy with the right pull vehicle. But just remember it is closer to 27' when looking at campground site lengths.
