Its not age to me, its largely your health and willingness for adventure. Money too. I know one lady who was still riding horses at 94. Another 94 year old could still make good ski tracks on Al's Run at Taos Ski Area.
If you got what it takes go for it and have fun.

Twelve years ago we moved here and started this farm. Farming has been challenging, frustrating and rewarding all at one time. Farming is work, and very often hard work. Now, 62, I'm asking myself when will there be time to enjoy living again? For years we camped up and down the east coast with our four children. When combined with our "RV" experience of owning a 25' sailboat and bareboat chartering from Maine to the Virgin Islands we're both ready to jump back in. We have our sights set on a purchase late next summer. I'd like to go full time for a few years. The wife not so much, another compromise I'm sure.
So isn't it really:
When is it too young to give up your dreams and aspirations?
If you're both healthy enough go for it!

I'm 67 1/2 and hooking and unhooking my TT is easier each successive time particularly when I SLOW down. This isn't a race. Follow your check list and enjoy the experience. However, I do have an electric jack. No cranking for me.

I am 78 and DW will be 75 in 2 months. I just renewed my Passport America membership good until December 2020 so it looks like I'm going to have to go until I am 82 to get my moneys worth. We don't hike, ski, swim, golf or any other strenuous exercise but just relax and enjoy the years we've been together and the years to come.

It is not the age it is the miles. I have friends well into their 80's that still tour in a conversation van.
I am 72 with two new knees and a back full of bolts. We have towed over 25,000 miles in the last three years. At 67 I was canoe camping in the boundary water with the grandkids. They were finally old enough to haul gear over the portages.
If you can drive and afford the 10 mpg there is no reason to sit home wishing.

70 now is like the old 60...My parents are 79 and I think they are about done with their 38' pusher and toad. A few years back I started to mention to them maybe it was time to downsize to a smaller class B....My father didn't want to here it....Now it's been sitting for the last 2 years....
I think it all depends on your comfort level, vision (eye) and general health. Yes, It would be a little easier in a smaller / shorter RV. If my health holds out, I would would love to be RVing into my later years.

My brother's Mother in Law is now in her mid 80's. A few years ago, she made the statement to my brother that she is getting old and slowing done. She said, "Russ, I just can't do the active things like biking and kayaking that I used to be able to do when I was 75 . . . !"
More power to her!

As long as you are still able to drive, then you are not too old to have an RV.

I am 73 and my wife and I just returned from a 6 month tour of Alaska all the way to Deadhorse. Do not plan on stopping any time soon. As for a trailer vs motorhome. The answer is the same as always, which design do you like best. The choice as my friend puts it is as follows: Drive your house and tow your car or drive your car and tow your house.
I chose the 40Ft diesel pusher do I could take the grand kids. If it were just me and my wife I would look at something built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. They range from a small class B to a medium size class C. They are low and easy to get in and out and they ride good as well.
The only caution is the larger ones are fully loaded when they come from the factory. This means no tow vehicle, although I see people towing with them all the time.
No matter what you pick we look forward to seeing you on the road again. It is still fun!
