I have replaced the cheap "Home Theater" (not) system that came in my 06 Lakota with a nice Sony AV receiver but the radio reception isn't very good (the original unit wasn't any better). Both units have a simple AM loop antenna and long wire FM. I would like to add an auxilary exteriorantenna or perhaps find a way to split into my Winegard batwing on the roof. Anybody have some suggestions on the best way to go?

The back of your Sony probably has a coax plug for antenna input, so a simple splitter should do the trick.

You could install a roof top antenna with a low profile and a bit flexible. Click HERE
for an idea. Radio Shack may have this or even Auto Zone.

A connection to the amplified RV antenna should work, but will be directional. Here is a Winegard RV omni directional antenna that is easy to mount.

Thanks for the tips. I was able to split into the Wingard antenna and now have excellent FM but will have to do something else for the AM. I am thinking I will install an automotive type antenna.
