How to replace a fresh water tank in a 67 Prowler

Hi all! I have a 1967 Fleetwood Prowler trailer with what I believe to be the original fresh water tank (galvanized) that has sprung a pretty bad leak when it's pressurized, even with just a small amount of water in it. The problem is that it's so snug in the trailer that we can't see around it to find the leak. We've removed the fill pipe and the release valve pipe to reseal them but it still leaks. All other connections were tested as well and no leaks. Possibly it's rusted through on the bottom so our next option is to remove the tank. Due to the size of the tank (54" long) and the tight quarters (her body is only 13'), we can't figure out how to get it out without ripping out the kitchen. We started to take off part of the exterior skin but were met with all wall of wood, on the bottom too. I'm thinking this is probably why it was never replaced, although it did work well over the years if you didn't mind a bit of rust in your water when the tank was almost empty! Does anyone know the actual way to remove one of these? Thank you so much!

She's over the hill - 44 years old. Time to kick her out and replace her with a twenty-something, or maybe even a teenager.

If you can't get the old one out, then maybe bypass it into a new plastic container. The old lines are probably atrocious anyway. I just put new lines in my 96 Jayco. The old line was supposed to be clear, but when I ripped it out? Blacker'n night she was. Ewwwww
