If I were remodeling or rebuilding a TT, my biggest concern would be weight. Especially if I was trying to do it based on home construction techniques.

We bought a Heartland North Trail last year and didn't have any of those issues. We also looked at a Nash and it was pretty well put together too.

We looked at TT for 2 years at RV shows and on the lots and were so surprised at how shody some of the work was. We just kept looking until we found a couple of companies that we saw consistently having good workmanship in their TTs.

If you want special you will have to pay for special. Or, as you said, you can build it yourself. Lance, Nash and Airstream seem to get high marks, as do the Casita and other shell types.

The RV industry builds what sells at a price the people are willing to pay and quality people are willing to acceptance. They have had record sales for the last four years and are nearing 500,000 units a year.

I do not see any change coming soon.

Good hunting.

I've been reading all good about Artic Fox. One of the few I'm considering a true quality TT I don't mind spending more for quality.

I had over 30 cosmetic issues with my Cougar. But the dealer fixed it all.

I did have to wait quite awhile. But we bought in October and it was all good to go for the Spring season.

Quite frankly I am surprised they fixed everything I listed. Especially that the spare tire rubbed a little on the ground while going into my driveway. They custom welded a taller mount for me.

There is no longer a wrinkle in the wallpaper to be found.

All wood joints in the trim are as they should be.

EVERYWHERE the wallpaper goes all the way to the floor a piece of quarter round molding is installed to protect the edge of the wallpaper. I had about 6 of these listed.

After looking at 3 different lines of TTs It seems that a FR Solaire comes as close to "better" as we have seen so far in initial out of the factory build attention to detail. Not the highest rung TT but doable. Arctic Fox, for us, holds the high mark but is expensive and heavy. Its always a trade off.
