I think I'm in love again.

I decided to take almost new wife looking at TTs. I just sold my C and decided to pick up a new rig. No wait we looked at new ones to get ideas for used lol. Anyway. Connect 312bhk. I fell in love with it. And her too lol. Any good or bad would be appreciated. I've had a Tt before. I'm pulling w my ram crew hemi 8 3.55 I know I know lol. WD hitch and bars. (any info here appreciated as well) I can't believe we are buying new. But I sure look forward to getting out w "my people again". Missed you guys. Ps. I may pick up a new truck too. If we really use it for long hauls.

You've been around the block already. Only you know if you can afford it and it makes sense for your situation. If it does, get it. If it doesn't make sense financially then buy a nice used one (like your original plan).

I'm not trying to be the weight police but I think 6,900 lbs dry weight and 36' in length is too much for a half ton truck. Especially the 36' in length.

Gotta agree with Bob. The 5.7 will pull it, but you will suffer for the abuse. Cast around for a 2500 w/6.7 oil burner. World of difference in capability and distance on a tank. Welcome back to the world of travel.

You guys are awesome. I went back out and looked at Tt. Too much. Back looking. 36 is correct. But weight is 7300. Two acs outside kitchen etc. Great deal but need more truck. Going lighter. Look to upgrade truck and Tt after awhile.

Good call. 36' and 7,300 lbs is too much for a half ton. You could upgrade to a 3/4 ton, but if I was going to do that, I would personally move to a 5th wheel.

I would be looking for something in the 29'-32' overall length and 5,000-6,000 lbs empty range. Your truck is rated to pull between 8,000 and 9,000, so I wouldn't be too excited about going past 7,000 lbs loaded at all, and I would want to go lighter than that if I was planning frequent long trips.

Looking for those ideas. Wanting a nice rig. Bunkhouse. Not more than 32. Not more than 6500. Need double sized bunks. Four college football types lol. She's liking woodlike floor and black cabinets. Private master. Anything rings a bell. Shoot me the info. Private master also.

Well...it was just a matter of time before I read your ultimate goals and matched them up to this:

ORV | Timber Ridge 23DBS
-large bunks-check
-6,350 full featured dry weight-check
-less than 32'-check
-woodlike floor-check
-black cabinets-(wait til she sees the tabletops, and the dark wood finishes) ok, no check here, but you can't have everything...
-private master-check (sort of)
-nice rig-A+ check

btw, these things are heavy, with good reason.

being a Hemi Ram owner, you'll probably enjoy this construction video:

("yeah ol' Normal_Dave's answer to everything is ORV", well lots of the time I suppose that's right...)

Enjoy.

That Timber Ridge will be North of 8K loaded and also have a 1000 lb+ tongue weight. Then you get to add passengers, cargo, tools, and everything else you need to go camping? Does your truck have enough payload capacity for a trailer and "stuff" to not exceed payload capacity. What about GVWR...GCWR...Rear axle rating? Lots of things to consider when getting a trailer that is close to your truck's capacities.

I'm out of the TT market, but back from the days when I did pull them I can tell you (and you probably already know) you can overload a 1/2 truck very fast. If I were doing a TT again I'd be budgeting for a 3/4 ton truck too. Just my 2 cents. It gives you a lot of flexibility to move up.

Check out the Soliare 267BHSK. Should run about $20k-$21k new or $15k used for one that's a 2014-2015.

We wanted the exact same thing - bunkhouse with private master, big slide for lots of space, and reasonable weight. It fits the bill perfectly. Depending on where you're at in Texas, there are several for sale that you can go check out.
